Highgunner - Highgunner 06a

Thoroughbred Camp Activity
LEARN HOW TO "PREVENT UNWANTED THOROUGHBREDS"

Head Counselor Highgunner

Highgunner was born in 2002. Early training for the track left Highgunner with stiff ankles and foot problems. He was rescued at auction in late 2004 by Drs. Sheryl Fulop and Ken Lian. As the first step in his rehabilitation, Highgunner was turned out in a pasture with a miniature horse named Chopper, and they quickly became best friends. Come see the rest of his story of returning to the track and transitioning to other jobs. Highgunner educates us about the the true spirit of the Thoroughbred horse & inspires us to make a difference. His attitude can be summed up in the phrase, "Don't stop me now!" Join him and his fellow thoroughbreds as they teach you about the problems in racing. Read how the "Unwanted Thoroughbred" mirrors our society: The "Unwanted Athlete," Equine or Human."
